Plus sizes 14W through 24W feature a slightly longer back zipper and additional ease through the bust and hip for a comfortable, proportional fit. The stretch lining adapts to your shape without clinging, and the lace overlay maintains its drape across all size ranges.
Dry cleaning is the only recommended care method for the Eliza J women’s stretch lace gown. The lace overlay requires solvent cleaning to preserve its shape and prevent fiber damage, and the stretch knit lining can lose elasticity if exposed to water and heat.
Between wearings, hang the gown on a padded hanger to prevent shoulder dimples — never use wire or thin plastic hangers that can distort the cap sleeves. Store in a breathable garment bag away from direct sunlight; the nylon lace can yellow if exposed to UV light over time. If you’re traveling with this gown, roll it gently with tissue paper between the folds rather than cramming it into a suitcase. Most wrinkles will release if you hang the gown in a steamy bathroom for 15 minutes before your event.

The garment bag is reusable and features a full-length zipper, so you can store the gown in it long-term or use it for travel. We do not include a built-in bra or bust support; the lining is thin enough to work with most strapless or adhesive undergarments. The gown weighs approximately 1.2 pounds, making it easy to pack for destination weddings or events. The stretch knit lining is lightweight, and the lace overlay adds minimal bulk. We recommend rolling the gown with tissue paper or hanging it in the included garment bag to prevent wrinkles during travel.
The nylon-rayon lace blend we use is more durable than traditional cotton lace and resists snagging. We’ve tested it against rings, bracelets, and beaded clutches without issue. That said, avoid sharp or rough-edged accessories, and remove your gown carefully if you’re wearing a watch or bracelet with exposed metal edges.
We offer standard, petite, and regular lengths but do not provide custom alterations. The standard gown has a 60-inch shoulder-to-hem measurement in size 8, and the petite version measures 57 inches. If you need a specific length, we recommend ordering the closest size and having a local tailor hem it to your preference.
Light steaming is safe for touch-ups between dry cleanings, but it won’t replace professional cleaning for stains or odors. Use a handheld garment steamer on the lowest heat setting and keep the steam head at least six inches from the lace to avoid scorching. Never use an iron directly on the lace overlay.
We produce this style in navy, charcoal, wine, and champagne in addition to black. Color availability varies by season and size, so check the product page for current inventory. The lace pattern remains consistent across all colors, but the undertone of the stretch lining may shift slightly depending on the shade.
We recommend ordering at least three weeks before your event to allow time for shipping and any necessary alterations. If you’re ordering a petite or plus size, add an extra week since those sizes may ship from a different warehouse. Rush shipping is available but does not guarantee immediate stock availability.
